Lot details Registration No: XHK 598 Chassis No: 4A4408T Mot Expiry: Exempt
The Roadster was a two-door Convertible version of the Bantam Saloon and first sold in 1939. The model re-emerged virtually unchanged after the war until the 4A variant of 1949 that featured a Solex carburettor in place of the original SU and a four rather than three-speed gearbox. Well presented with sparkling Red bodywork and equally appealing Burgundy interior trim, this 4A was a 1949 build but apparently remained unregistered until 1952. It was the subject of an earlier chassis-up restoration that seems to have survived the test of time well, and the vendor currently views the bodywork, paintwork, upholstery, four-cylinder engine and gearbox as all being in 'good' condition and informs us that the car 'runs well with good performance for its age and size'. The very usable Roadster complete with boot is now available for purchase, included in which are a duck hood, sidescreens, tonneau cover and flashing indicators.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
