This delightful example of the much sought after Karmann Ghia was imported from Florida in 2015 and went straight into a full body off comprehensive restoration by renown specialist Chris Gilley Beetles in Poynton. Being the ultra-rare 1966 model, it has the unique features of combined interior light and rear view mirror, dashboard trim, hazard light switch and 1300cc engine.
The Karmann-Ghia was produced with two body styles in the form of the fixed head coupe and the cabriolet and, as the name would suggest, this Ghia designed car had a children only rear seat. They were produced for seveteen years, a very long run, with four engine options and in all something half a million examples left the V.W. factories.
Even though a lot were made this is now quite a rare sight on our roads but they are a lovely car both to drive and to look at and this should be keenly contested at today's sale.
