Lot details Registration No: JAY373D Chassis No: 23438DN Mot Expiry: Dec 2013
First registered on July 29th 1966, this particular example began life in Leicester (or so its number plate and sill-mounted Car Park Garage Ltd supplier's plaque would imply). A desirable 3.8-litre model fitted with four-speed manual/overdrive transmission, the Jaguar appears to retain its original Red leather upholstery. Featured in the 1989 TV series `Stay Lucky' with Dennis Waterman and Jan Francis, `JAY 373D' entered the current ownership via marque specialist Woodmanton Classics of Clifton on Teme, Worcestershire during October 1994. Understood to have covered some 3,000 miles since then, sundry invoices on file show that the past nineteen years have seen the MKII benefit from attention to its wiring, underseal, ignition system and rear brakes / handbrake. Pleasingly displaying the same numbers to its slam panel and engine cylinder head that appear on its bulkhead-mounted chassis plate, the Sports Saloon presents as an older restoration. Riding on chrome wire wheels, `JAY 373D' is offered for sale with a DVD of `Stay Lucky', V5C Registration Document, assorted Woodmanton Classics paperwork, various Bonds of Longridge Ltd invoices and twenty-one MOT certificates the latest of which was issued without advisories and expires on December 10th 2013.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
