Most classic transport enthusiasts will remember ISO's famous muscle cars, the 'Grifo' and 'Rivolta' but how many would associate the Italian company with motorcycles? Along with refridgerators, the 'Milano' scooter, the Isetta bubble car ('a fridge mounted on two scooters' as some wag was to describe it) delivery vans and other products the industrial giant built by Renzo Rivolta from small beginnings in 1949 was gone by the mid-sixties. Few scooters survive and even less examples of the ISO motorcycle range, this interesting machine is one of them.
Dating from the late fifties the 125cc. split single twin port 4speed engined bike here on offer was part restored whilst in the care of a Spanish museum until imported to the UK in recent years. It is reported to have run recently although the restoration is incomplete, needing wiring, to be in reasonably good condition, and to have the original engine and frame. An intriguing project for the Italian enthusiast entered at a modest reserve.
