Lot details Registration No: GSU 253 Chassis No: SWC118 Mot Expiry: T.B.A.
Supplied new to Robert B. Massey & Co Ltd on September 1st 1960, chassis SWC118 was sold to 89-year old Mrs E. Garland by R.S. Mead Ltd seven months later for £5,750. A generous but impractical bequest to chauffeur Stanley Bilton-Sanderson, the Rolls-Royce had covered just 11,548 miles when acquired from Harold Smith Motors Ltd by her step-grandson P.A.T. Garland Esq on 29th April 1966. Laid-up in August 1973 at 17,936 miles, the Silver Cloud II was recommissioned some fourteen years later by Robert James Esq who treated it to a lower-half respray, replacement headlining, refinished brightwork, stainless steel exhaust, new brake master / wheel cylinders and fresh tyres. Boasting a convincing history file, chassis SWC118 was purchased by the vendor's husband for £38,000 on August 11th 2004 with a warranted mileage of 20,114. Now showing just 24,473 miles to its odometer, this highly original Rolls-Royce is worthy of close inspection.
