Lot details Registration No: 568 COX Chassis No: 327834
Microcars (or bubble cars as they are popularly known) were born of the need for cheap short-distance transportation in the post-WW2 years. The most successful of the breed was the Isetta, whose origins lay with the Italian firm of Iso SpA (Isetta is Italian for `little Iso'), but which was adopted and largely redesigned by BMW. The 300 (298cc) version was introduced in 1956. `568 COX' is a delightful-looking example finished in Red. It has benefited from being restored and the interior re-trimmed and has evidently been used `regularly but sparingly' in recent times. Offered with history file consisting of an original owner's handbook and printed maintenance manual, continuation green log book, invoices, notes on work carried out and various copies of the Isseta owners gazette more recently the Isseta has received new big and small ends to the crank in 2014. Being sold complete with sunroof the Isetta currently displays an unwarranted 28,574 miles.
