2005 Honda S2000

Lot details

Registration No: LB05 YKU
Chassis No: JHMAP113055201513
MOT: February 2023

  • Facelift Honda S2000 presented in Moonrock Grey with black leather interior
  • In current ownership for the last 7 years, now showing 73,897 miles on the odometer
  • Subject to recent Waxoyl treatment, valve clearence check and replacement drive belts, and comes with impressive history file

Offering all the ingredients of an exceptional sports car, the S2000 has a front-mounted engine, rear-wheel drive, and perfect 50:50 weight distribution with only 2 seats. The model was first introduced in 1999 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Honda and was in production for 10 years - during that time, only 8,000 came to the UK. The car was given the chassis designation AP1 and featured a bulletproof 1,997cc inline four-cylinder DOHC-VTEC engine. The F-series engine in the S2000 held the crown for the highest specific output of a naturally aspirated engine for 10 years, only being dethroned with the launch of the Ferrari 458.

From 2004 onwards Honda made significant changes to improve handling, including a stiffer subframe and alterations to the suspension geometry, shock absorber damping and spring rates. New front and rear bumpers and redesigned headlights were among several cosmetic changes, made at the same time. These later models, in good condition are becoming increasingly collectable and values for good examples have been rising steadily in recent years.

First registered in 2005 and presented in Moonrock Grey with complementing Black leather interior and desirable 10 spoke wheels, this facelifted Honda S2000 has been in current ownership since January 2015. A desirable unmodified example, ‘LB05 YKV’ has been regularly maintained during its current ownership using Honda spares in servicing and maintenance where possible.

Now showing 73,897 miles on the odometer, at the time of consignment, this S2000 has benefited from Waxoyl treatment in October 2018, brake line replacement and the valve clearances checked that same year, as well as the fuel filter being overhauled in January 2021 in addition to regular servicing. More recently in February of this year, noting the MOT advisory for the tyres cracking, the rears were replaced together with a new drive belt in advance of the service schedule. In March, the car was subject to a service, along with a health check in early September in preparation for sale.

This S2000 is accompanied by its original bookpack, containing leaflets, owner’s manual, Honda Home-file booklet and both one complete service book containing 12 stamps until 2016 at 48,496 miles and a second service book with 4 stamps from 2017 until the most recent in March 2022 at 72,088 miles, with the gap being due to a difficulty in arranging a service due to Covid. Also included are a large collection of invoices and MOTs, as well as the current V5C document which shows 6 former keepers.
